Your Event Planner Tip of the Day….. Planning a Family Reunion

Start by assembling a list of family members, including spouses, significant others and children. Get in touch with at least one person from each branch of the family to help you track down contact information for other family members. Make sure to collect email addresses it really helpful when it comes to updates and last-minute details

 Create a reunion committee. Somebody has to be in charge to make sure everything is getting done and no one is slacking. You’ll need someone who is a great at delegating. Planning a reunion is a huge job for one person, so find some family members who are willing to share the work.

 Put someone in charge of each major aspect of the reunion such as reunion location, activities, budget, mailings, record keeping, accommodations, transportation etc.

 The biggest consideration is budget. Figure out how much you are going to spend. Get the family involved to help with the cost by asking for a registration fee from each adult family member.

 Also, themes have become very popular; creating a theme for your family reunion is an excellent way to interest people to attend. Don’t for get about special birthdays and anniversaries.
